Hello and welcome to my meridian page. I decided I wanted to visit the former, meridian studios in southampton. I visited the former meridian studios, at the end of June 2008. The meridian studios used to be home of TVS, thats Television South and before that, Southern Television. Meridain was the ITV franchise holder, for the south and south east part of the UK, from 1993. Meridian moved out of southampton, in about 2004 and was based at Whiteley. The former studios was going to be demolished, so I got there just in time.The studios was going to be demolished, to make way for a new housing development. That has now been delayed and as far as I know, the studios are now completely gone. I have taken some pictures of the former meridian studios. I was the first person, to bring back pictures from the inside of meridian studios, so is exclusive. Please see my meridian pictures silde show.

This was the first time, I really got to go round, an old disused, former ITV studio. It was exciting and a bit scary to. Most of the studios had already been striped out. the offices was completely bare. There was a small part I could not get to, because it was blocked off due to asbestos removal.

All the equipment,cameras etc, had been removed from the desks and sold off at auction. You can see some of the notices, in my pictures. I then went in to the main studios. It was extremely dark in them,as there was no power in the place. Even my torch was not bright enough lol. Anyway managed to take some pictures. You can see what the studios looked like, even though they was a bit empty.There was three studios from what I could see. I picked up some sovineers while I was there but there was not much at all. I found some old 35mm slides, which I scanned in and made in to a slide show. I was there for hours, as it takes that long to go round the place. I did not get to see quite everything but I did see most of it. I really enjoyed going round the place and would love to do something like it again.
